Authorities ID Man Shot To Death In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA (CBS) ― Authorities have identified a 20-year-old man who was shot to death near Virginia Avenue Park in Santa Monica.

Richard Juarez was found dead at 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner's officer.

A police officer heard several shots fired while on patrol near 21st Street and Pico Boulevard before finding Juarez, Santa Monica Police Lt. Mohamed Marhaba said.

A motive for the crime was not known. Anyone with information was asked to call police at (310)458-8495.
