A former Los Angeles police officer has pleaded guilty to secretly photographing girls for his sexual gratification.
Ralph Lakin, 55, entered the plea Tuesday to eight misdemeanor counts.
Orange County district attorney's spokeswoman Farrah Emami says Lakin was sentenced to four years of probation and community service.
Prosecutors say that in May 2007 Lakin took more than 90 pictures of girls, ages 4 to 13, at the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival before the father of one tackled him.
Prosecutors say Lakin then deleted about 150 images from his home computer, but experts restored them.
At the time, Lakin was assigned to Los Angeles police headquarters, reviewing excessive-force cases. He retired in 2008.
