Fremont Standoff Ends With Suspect In Custody

FREMONT, Calif. (AP) ―

A man has been taken into custody in Fremont after a tense standoff with police.

Authorities say a woman called police around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to report that she was raped by a man inside a vacant condo.

James Henderson was reportedly armed with a handgun and the woman claimed he assaulted and pistol-whipped her.

Tear gas was lobbed into the building and Henderson came out shortly after.
