Police Ask Victims Molested By Nurse To Speak Out

TARZANA (CBS) ― Los Angeles police are looking for other people who may have been molested by a certified nurse's assistant at a Tarzana hospital, a detective said Friday.

Ramon Eduardo Rodas Gaspar, 37, is accused of molesting patients coming out of surgery at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center at 18321 Clark St., according to Ninette Toosbuy of the West Valley Police Station.

The investigation began when a woman, 29, told police she had been sexually assaulted on April 7.

Over the course of the investigation, authorities found two more alleged victims, one from January 2005 and the other from April this year.

All three were recovering from surgery in their hospital rooms when Gaspar allegedly assaulted them, she said.

Faced with a warrant for his arrest, Gaspar turned himself in to authorities last month, Toosbuy said.

He worked at the hospital for about two years, she said. "We have reason to believe there may be other victims who have not come forward," she said. "We're making the suspect's picture public with the expectation that there are other victims. We'd like anyone with information to call us." Toosbuy can be reached at (818) 374-7794.
