A former probation officer has been sentenced for assaulting two police officers while running naked down a Long Beach street.

A former probation officer who assaulted two police officers while running naked down a Long Beach street has been given a suspended four-year state prison sentence.
Jermaine Walton was also placed on five years of probation Wednesday after being convicted in May of two counts of assault on a police officer and other charges.
Prosecutors say Walton, now 33, was nude on Sept. 19, 2007, as he ran down the street, charging head first into several vehicles stopped at intersections.
When police responded to reports of the off-duty probation officer's behavior, he ignored their commands and attacked the officers.
District attorney's spokeswoman Jane Robison did not know what prompted Walton's actions.
Walton's lawyer Theodore Flier did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
