Up To 5 Suspects Wanted In Woman's Abduction

POMONA Pomona police Thursday asked for the public's help in solving the apparent abduction of a woman who was reportedly kidnapped by several people.

Monica Ayala, 26, was kidnapped Wednesday night from a residence in the 900 block of Bradford Avenue by as many as five suspects, Pomona police Sgt. Rick Baker said.

Late Wednesday night, a man flagged down a police officer and said he and his girlfriend -- Ayala -- had been held against their will at their home for several hours by as many as five people, Baker said.

"That victim reported that he had been beaten and tied up by the suspects," Baker said. "He reported that his girlfriend ... had been taken from their residence by the same persons, along with a vehicle belonging to (Ayala) and property belonging to both."

Police circulated the names and photos of two of the suspects: Saul Esquivel, 27, and Alan Pierson, 31, both of Pomona. Esquivel and Pierson reportedly know both victims, Baker said. Esquivel is also wanted for a parole violation.

Police are also seeking two men and a woman in connection with the case. Their descriptions were not available.

Police went to the victims' residence but found no one there, Baker said. A short time later police saw Ayala's van parked in an alley, Baker said.

Ayala is described as approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, 100 to 115 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a "light complexion." She has a scar on her left cheek, and tattoos of hearts on each elbow.

The suspects may be driving a primer-gray 1950s GMC pickup truck. Anyone with information about the case was asked to call 911, the police detective bureau at (909) 620-2095 or the 24-hour tip line, (909) 620-2085.
