Twin sisters were struck by a van in Pomona Thursday while walking with their mother, a fire inspector said.
The 6-year-old girls were hit around 7:50 a.m. at Phillips and Hampton boulevards, inspector Sam Padilla said.
Maricela Oseguero, 40, of Pomona was cited for driving without a license and for failing to yield to pedestrians within a crosswalk, and was released pending a court hearing, Pomona police Cpl. Bert Sanchez said.
One girl reportedly suffered a broken leg, while the other had lesser injuries.
The girls' mother was not injured in the incident.
The accident was under investigation.
