Perris Teacher Arrested For Sex With Student

PERRIS, Calif. (CBS) ― A Perris middle school teacher was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student, authorities said.

Raymond Ricardo Fields, who has taught at Tomas Rivera Middle School for three years, was arrested at his Murrieta home by Riverside County sheriff's deputies, said Sgt. Earl Quinata.

Fields, 27, allegedly admitted having a sexual relationship with the female student, dating back to last October.

"Yes, he did admit to the relationship," the sergeant told reporters.

Fields was the girl's math teacher in the 2004-05 school year, Quinata said.

"The teacher would make arrangements, would pick up the girl somewhere near her home or away from her home ... He would then take her to his residence in Murrieta," the sergeant alleged.

The teacher reportedly had permission from the girl's parents to drive her to school functions, but they were apparently unaware of the extent of the alleged sexual nature of the relationship.
