Driver Charged After Hollywood Chase Kills 2

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― A driver accused of killing two pedestrians during a police chase in Hollywood has been charged with two counts of murder.

The district attorney's office says 29-year-old Sergio Rogelio Delgado was charged Tuesday. Delgado also faces a felony hit-and-run charge and two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Delgado was arrested Sunday night after he led police on a chase that ended on Hollywood Boulevard and Wilcox, where his car collided with a man and a woman on a crosswalk. Neither victim has been identified.

Police say the chase began when an officer spotted Delgado driving recklessly and tried to pull him over. Delgado sped away, allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road in the Hollywood Bowl area and running a red light at Wilcox Avenue before he struck the victims.
