Woman Found Shot To Death On Pasadena Street
PASADENA
Police say a woman was shot and killed on a Pasadena street Tuesday night.
The victim, identified Wednesday as 20-year-old Jennifer Avina-Ortega, had no known address.
Police Wednesday were trying to establish a motive for the crime.
Accoring to acting Pasadena police Chief Christopher Vicino, Avina-Ortega is Pasadena's second homicide in 2008.
Avina-Ortega was found in the 1800 block of East Villa Street about 9:50
p.m. Tuesday.
Police were responding to reports of gunfire and a female pleading for help, said police spokeswoman Janet Pope Givens.
She died about an hour later at a hospital, she said.
