In Parvati No More: 'Survivor' Winner Gets $1 Mill

25-Year-Old Boxer From Los Angeles Is Champion Of 'Fans Vs. Faves'

NEW YORK (AP) ― Parvati Shallow has won "Survivor: Micronesia -- Fans vs. Favorites."

The 25-year-old boxer and charity organizer from Los Angeles outwitted, outlasted and outplayed her competitors for 39 days to claim the CBS reality show's $1 million prize during Sunday's finale.

Parvati also admitted that her incessant flirting was part of her winning strategy. She flirted with men, women and although we didn't see it, she probably also flirted with the immunity idol.

At the beginning of the 16th season, a tribe of "favorite" former contestants competed against a tribe of "fan" rivals.

Shallow previously came in sixth place on "Survivor: Cook Islands."

Amanda Kimmel, a former Miss Montana USA, was the runner-up. She was also a former "fave."

There were eight voting jury members. Parvati beat Amanda 5-3.

In addition to being the first time fans were pitted against all-stars, this installement of "Survivor" saw its first-ever all-female final four.

Cerie Fields (a nurse from New Jersey) and Natalie Bolton (a bartender/personal trainer from Houston) were the other two to make it to the final four. Only Fields, who was on "Survivor: Panama Exile Island" had previous "Survivor" training.

The past three "Survivors" had the final three vie for the $1 million top prize. But Cerie, who came in 6th previously, was shocked when another twist revealed only the final two would be campaigning to win in the finale.

The finale aired Sunday evening on CBS.

Jeff Probst announced the series will return to Africa for it's next installment this Fall: "Survivor: Gabon -- Earth's Last Eden."
