2 Teens Killed, 9 Injured At 2 Separate Parties

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) ―

Authorities say at least 11 people were shot at two separate parties in the Los Angeles area, two of them fatally. A Long Beach police spokeswoman says the first shooting happened late Saturday at a birthday party in Long Beach, when several gang members apparently crashed the party and started a fight.

Breon Taylor, 15, of Los Angeles and Dennis Moses, 17, of Long Beach were fatally wounded in a shooting at a party at the Lakewood Masonic Center, 5918 E. Parkcrest St., Saturday around 10:30 p.m., said Long Beach police Sgt. Dina Zapalski.

Another 17-year-old boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials say the second shooting took place early Sunday in Compton, when four or five men turned up to a party and started shooting partygoers.

Eight people were shot and three were critically wounded.
