Jury Recommends Death For Parolee
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
Jurors have recommended death for a parolee who was convicted of murdering two people in northern Los Angeles County.
The Los Angeles Superior Court panel reached its recommendation Wednesday for Steven Anthony Jones.
Jones was convicted of first-degree murder last month in the November 2004 shooting death of Neil Hacker in Quartz Hill and the December 2004 beating death of Sharon Willis in a Lancaster motel room.
Jones was also convicted of trying to kill two other men at a Lancaster home where he'd rented a room, sexually assaulting a fellow inmate, battering a deputy and torturing and trying to kill another inmate.
Jones is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
