PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) ― A disturbing break-in at a Palm Springs vacation home is reminiscent of the 1969 Charles Manson killings.

Vandals left a pentagram, often associated with witchcraft, on the floor and scrawled "Helter Skelter" on a fireplace. Besides the five-pointed star laid out with sticks, the word "Blood" was written in soap on a television screen and the word "pigs" was scribbled on a glass door.

A cleaning crew hired by the homeowner discovered the vandalism last week and called police.

Similar symbols were found at the scenes of the 1969 Charles Manson family killings of eight people at two homes. Victims included pregnant actress Sharon Tate.

There have been no arrests in the Palm Springs break-in.
