Police In Ontario Going Gangbusters -- Literally

ONTARIO Police in Ontario have made 61 gang-related arrests as part of a large-scale sweep that is part of an ongoing gang suppression effort involving about 15 local, state and county law enforcement agencies.

The arrests Friday were for offenses such as possession of a controlled substance, possession of illegal weapons and outstanding warrants.

Police said Saturday that some property was also seized during the raids but they couldn't immediately give a figure.

The sweep by more than 10 law enforcement agencies was part of the San Bernardino County Movement Against Street Hoodlums -- or S.M.A.S.H program -- that aims to eliminate gang activity in the county.
