Norwalk Councilman Allegedly Threatened His Wife

NORWALK, Calif. (CBS) ― Norwalk City Councilman Richard Ramirez is free on bail Saturday night after being arrested for allegedly threatening his wife.

Ramirez was arrested Friday night at his home in the 11000 block of Pluton Street after his wife called the sheriff's department, sheriff's spokesman Deputy Rick Pedroza said.

Ramirez was booked at the Pico Rivera Sheriff Station on suspicion of making criminal threats against his wife, Pedroza said. He posted $50,000 bail and was released.

He is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Bellflower on Nov. 20.
