Light rain fell on the Southland Wednesday, but the storm was clearing out of the region, making way for a weaker storm Thursday.
More snow is expected Wednesday, bringing the total snow accumulation to between three and seven inches, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm significantly affected traffic. There were about 280 accidents handled by the California Highway Patrol in Los Angeles County between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday, compared to about 75 during the same period last week, according to CHP Officer David Porter.
One man was killed in a crash that occurred about 9 p.m. Tuesday in Phillips Ranch. Details of the wreck were not immediately available.
The storm dropped 1.14 inches of rain in downtown Los Angeles, according to the NWS, with substantially heavier rainfall in the mountain areas, including two inches at Camp 9.
About 25,500 customers in Northridge were left in the dark for almost 10 hours due to rain-triggered power outages, according to officials.
The campus of California State University, Northridge was closed Wednesday.
Power was knocked out about 7 p.m. Tuesday, affecting portions of Northridge along the Plummer Street area, including the CSUN campus, according to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokeswoman Marie Lemelle.
"Power was fully restored to all residential customers within eight minutes," she said adding that most of the larger industrial customers had their power restored by 10 p.m.
Small areas of the CSUN campus remained powerless overnight, Lemelle said, adding that service was fully restored by 4:30 a.m. CSUN spokeswoman Carmen Ramos Chandler confirmed the campus would remain closed Wednesday, reopening Thursday.
The outage was "caused by rain-related reasons and some equipment was affected. But crews have been working all night to repair and fully restore power," Lemelle said.
