A Northridge man Tuesday was charged with two counts each of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed two men.
Sean Martin Mishlof, 24, who was allegedly driving under the influence, was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Van Nuys Superior Court.
Mishlof was driving a 1995 Mercury Mystique westbound on Ventura Boulevard just after 2 a.m. Saturday when the car rear-ended a 1990 Nissan Sentra that was stopped at a red light, police said.
Both victims, Sepehr Keshavar and Farzad Etesamifar, were wearing seatbelts. They suffered serious head trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Mishlof was arrested and is still behind bars. Prosecutors were asking that his bail be set at $2 million.
If convicted of all charges, he faces a maximum state prison sentence of 30 years to life, according to the District Attorney's Office.
