18-Year-Old Shot And Killed In North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (CBS) ― An 18-year-old man was killed when he was shot in the back in North Hollywood, police said Wednesday.

The shooting happened at 9 p.m. Wednesday at Troost Avenue and Sylvan Street, according to Sgt. Kenneth Henkle of the LAPD's North Hollywood Station.

The victim, whose name was withheld, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Henkle said.

The shooting is believed to have been gang-related, he said.
