Authorities say an autopsy conducted on the body of a woman found packed in dry ice in a Newport Beach hotel room is inconclusive, but they say her death does not appear to be a homicide.
Detectives found the fully clothed and "well preserved" body late Thursday after arresting Stephen David Royds for investigation of selling and possessing cocaine.
Police Sergeant Evan Sailor says when they searched Royds' room at the Fairmont Newport Beach hotel, they found the woman's body inside a large Rubbermaid container filled with dry ice.
The woman has been identified as Monique Trepp, 33. Sailor says it isn't clear how long she'd been dead.
Police are investigating whether Royds was involved in the death. He's being held on $30,000 bail.
