'New Directions' Provides Help For Homeless Vets
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
Unbeknownst to most Americans, Los Angeles has the largest population of homeless military veterans in the nation, roughly 20,000 living on the streets.
Many of these women and men suffer from post-traumatic disorders, substance abuse problems, and many other medical conditions.
New Directions provides comprehensive services to these vets, including job training and placement and legal and financial assistance.
They are currently developing a 147-unit supportive housing facility.
