Teacher Pleads Not Guilty To Molestation Charges

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (AP) ― A National City junior high school teacher has pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of sexual molestation involving a 15-year-old girl.

Craig Edward Kelso also pleaded not guilty Friday to one charge of trying to dissuade a witness.

Kelso, a teacher at Granger Junior High School, was arrested Tuesday night at a San Diego home that police had placed under surveillance.

A search for Kelso briefly triggered a lockdown at Otay Lakes High School in Chula Vista where his estranged wife teaches. There was concern she had been threatened by Kelso, but police later described that as a miscommunication.

Kelso could face up to 60 years in prison if convicted of all charges.
