"NCIS" star Pauley Perrette, who plays criminologist Abby Sciuto on the hit CBS drama, is caught up in a real-life drama of her own. Perrette's good friend has been missing for several days.
But the woman's purse and some of her jewelry have been found in Runyon Canyon.
"Her purse was found at one end of Runyon Canyon with all the contents in it," Perrette told CBS2. "Her jewelry was found in another part of Runyon Canyon."
The missing woman, identified as Lami Nicole Powlesland, 24, was last seen in Hollywood on Wednesday, Los Angeles police Sgt. Alexander Ortiz of the Hollywood Station said.
Powlesland was released from a mental hospital in Nashville on the previous Friday and planned to return to Los Angeles, Channel 2 reported.
"She hasn't used her ATM or credit cards," Perrette said. "No one has been able to locate her car, which is black 2008 Jeep Liberty." Perrette, incidentally, is also a real-life criminologist.
Powlesland is an exercise buff and may have gone to the park to work out.
Firefighters helped search the park until 11 p.m. Saturday, said Capt. Milton Urquilla of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The search will resume Sunday morning, he said.
