Murder: Walnut Park, East LA, South LA, Anaheim...
LOS ANGELES
Sunday, bloody Sunday, indeed. Police are investigating overnight homicides that left a man dead in Walnut Park, another dead in East Los Angeles, one in Anaheim and a woman murdered in South Los Angeles.
Sheriff's Deputy Byron Ward of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said a man was shot and killed in East Los Angeles on Downey Road just after 11:20 Saturday evening.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
In Walnut Park, meanwhile, Sheriff's Deputy Lou Dillon said a man was killed at 7:10 p.m. near Alameda Street.
That victim also died at the scene.
In yet another act of violence, a woman -- about 25-years-old -- was killed in South Los Angeles.
Police Sgt Carlos Solano said the woman was shot to death at 42nd and Main streets at 2 a.m.
She also died at the scene.
In Anaheim, police say a 23-year-old man was gunned down about 1 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Lombard Drive.
Sgt. Jay Clapper said police responding to a shots fired call came upon the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, a resident of Redlands, will be identified after his next of kin is notified of his death.
The man died at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
