Jury Deliberations Begin In 'Black Widows' Trial

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― A defense lawyer has called the Los Angeles trial of a murder-for-profit case against two elderly women a "classic whodunnit."

Defense attorney Roger Jon Diamond used his closing argument Monday to suggest that unknown to client Helen Golay, co-defendant Olga Rutterschmidt had her own plan to kill homeless men.

Diamond told the jury he concedes that the women had an insurance fraud scheme but not a murder plot.

Rutterschmidt's defense earlier placed blame on Golay.
