'Posh' Tops Mr. Blackwell's Worst-Dressed List

 SLIDESHOW: Blackwell's Worst-Dressed List

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― "Posh Spice," better known as Victoria Beckham, topped fashion critic Mr. Blackwell's list of "Worst-Dressed Women" released Tuesday, followed closely by troubled songstress Amy Winehouse. "This past year stands out as one of the most disastrous fashion years in recent memory, as well as being a particularly eye-popping moment in Tinseltown where several worst-dressed repeat offenders suffered collective meltdowns," Blackwell said in releasing the list.

The comment was a light jab at Britney Spears, who topped the list for the past two years but who was not even mentioned among this year's top fashion foibles. "For those of you who were expecting to see Britney's name adorn the 2007 list, I felt that it was inappropriate at this time to make comment, when her personal life is in such upheaval," Blackwell said. "I hope 2008 is a better year for her."

Of short-skirt-favoring Victoria Beckham, Blackwell noted, "In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty Posh can really wreck 'em."

He described Winehouse as "exploding beehives above, tacky polka-dots below. She's part 50s car-hop horror."

Mary-Kate Olsen placed third, with Blackwell saying she "resembles a tattered toothpick trapped in a hurricane."

Singer Fergie captured the fourth spot, followed by Kelly Clarkson, with Blackwell saying her "heavenly voice soars above the rest, but those belly-baring bombs are hellish at best."

Rounding out the worst 10 were Eva Green "stuck in neon nightmares not fit for the sane", Avril Lavigne "fashions provided by the house of Dracula", Jessica Simpson "a global fashion curse", Lindsay Lohan "takes fashion to a new low" and actress Alison Arngrim "looks like a 1940s fashion editor for the Farmers Almanac."

But the news was not all bad in Blackwell's world. Making his list of "Fabulous Fashion Independents for 2007" were Reese Witherspoon, Jemima Khan, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, Katie Holmes, Kate Middleton, Katherine Heigl and Cate Blanchett.
