Big Horn Fire Scorches At Least 300 Acres

MOUNT BALDY (AP) ―

Firefighters Wednesday worked to contain a fire that has so far burned about 300 acres in the Angeles National Forest near Mount Baldy.

 

The fire, which started shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday, was about 10 percent contained, according to the Angeles National Forest Fire Information Center.

 

Several recreation residences were evacuated in the Bear Canyon area, but no buildings had been lost and no injuries were reported, officials said.

 

Firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service and from Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties were working to contain the blaze.

 

Mount Baldy Road was open only to area residents.
