Police Say Motorcycle Ministers Are No Angels

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) ― Phillip Aguilar has led his Christian motorcycle ministry in Southern California for more than 25 years.

He has counseled Hells Angels, married Mongols and provided a place to crash for just about every biker gangster he's ever met.

But Newport Beach police say Aguilar's chopper-riding Set Free Soldiers may have morphed into a gang themselves.

Aguilar and four other members of the ministry will be arraigned today in Orange County Superior Court on multiple weapons and gang felony charges after a bar brawl that ended with two Hells Angels stabbed.

One ministry member is charged with attempted murder.

Aguilar's son Hebrew "Roc" Aguilar, an associate pastor, says his father is free on bail and plans to plead not guilty to the charges.

Aguilar's church recently inspired an A&E reality show pilot called "Saints and Sinners."
