I-10 Reopens After Deadly Motorcycle Crash

WEST COVINA (AP) ― Lanes have reopened on Interstate 10 heading into Los Angeles after a fatal motorcycle crash in West Covina shut down the freeway for three hours during morning rush hour.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash that killed one man shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday morning prompted the closure of all but one westbound lane near Vincent Avenue.

Downtown-bound commuters were backed up for miles while the wreckage was cleared and coroner's officials removed the body.

Lanes reopened at 9:10 a.m.

The victim was identified only as a 40-year-old man.

CHP Officer Jennifer Connolly said it was not known whether the motorcyclist was hit or lost control of his bike.
