Motorcyclist, 34, Killed On I-5 In East L.A.
EAST LOS ANGELES
A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday in a crash on northbound Interstate 5 in the East Los Angeles area, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The man died at the scene of the crash, which occurred north of Olympic Boulevard about 7:20 a.m., CHP Officer Jose Nunez said.
Three left lanes were blocked while an investigation was conducted into
the circumstances of the crash, Nunez said.
Tuesday afternoon the deceased was identified as Jose J. Gomez, 34, of Compton, according to Ed Winter of the Coroner's officer.
Police say Gomez crashed his 2004 Yamaha V-Star into a catering truck and then was run over by another truck.
