A man who was shot on a Moreno Valley street died later at a hospital, authorities said Monday.

Juan Gonzalez, 24, of Moreno Valley, was pronounced dead at Riverside County Regional Medical Center at 9:49 p.m. Sunday, according to the Riverside County Coroner's office.

The victim was found after Moreno Valley police officers were sent to the 24000 block of Atwood Avenue about 9:15 p.m. Sunday to investigate the report of a shooting, Sgt. Dean Spivacke said.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call homicide detectives at (951)955-2777.
