2 Big Rigs Collide In Deadly Crash On 210 Freeway

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) ― Authorities said a trucker was killed when his big rig rear-ended another tractor-trailer in a crash that left the entire eastbound side of Interstate 210 north of Los Angeles closed for hours, snarling traffic into morning rush hour.

Officer Alex Gonzalez of the California Highway Patrol said the trucks crashed in an unincorporated area near Montrose and La Crescenta at about 4 a.m. Thursday morning.

The dead trucker was identified only as a man in his 50s. The other driver had only minor injuries.

The lanes were expected to be shut down for several hours as authorities clear the wreckage and investigate.
