Monterey Bay Aquarium Puts Captured Shark On View
MONTEREY, Calif. (AP) ―
Monterey Bay Aquarium officials put a 5'8", 104-pound male great white shark on exhibit Thursday night after it was caught off the coast of Southern California.
The shark was transported to the aquarium in a 3,000 gallon tank after its capture in an ocean pen off Malibu.
The male shark was the second great white to be kept at the aquarium since another great white shark was on display for a record 198 days before it was released back into the ocean in March of last year.
A spokesman for the Monterey Bay Aquarium says more than one million visitors came to the aquarium to see that shark.
