Motorcyclists Stage Ride For Missing Woman, 24

Mitrice Richardson Went Missing In Malibu More Than Two Months Ago

MALIBU, Calif. A group of approximately 100 motorcyclists were scheduled to ride from Malibu to South Los Angeles Saturday, hoping to refocus attention on a 24-year-old woman who went missing in Malibu more than two months ago.

The motorcycle ride will stretch for 65 miles, from Malibu, along Highway 101, to South Los Angeles.

Mitrice Richardson, of Los Angeles, went missing after having been released from the sheriff's Malibu-Lost Hills Station. She was arrested Sept. 16 at Geoffrey's restaurant in Malibu after the owner claims she was acting strangely and was unable to pay her bill.

Sheriff's deputies also reportedly found less than an ounce of marijuana in her car, and the Cal State Fullerton graduate, who passed a sobriety test, was booked at the sheriff's station for failing to pay her bill, then released about 1:25 a.m., according to the sheriff's department.

Richardson's car was impounded, and she walked away from the station with no purse or cell phone.

A homeowner on Cold Canyon Road reported a woman resting in her yard at approximately 6:30 a.m., but when deputies arrived, the woman was gone.

Richardson's mother said she believes her daughter was in a "manic state of mind" because she was sending "erratic" text messages to family and friends the afternoon of Sept. 16.

Richardson is African-American, 5 feet 5 inches and about 125 pounds with tattoos on her lower abdomen and behind her neck. She was last seen wearing a brown Bob Marley T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with more information as to her whereabouts was asked to call Los Angeles police at (213) 485-2531.
