4 Businesses Busted For Selling Booze To Minors
PERRIS
Seventeen businesses were tested and a lucky 13 did the right thing. They failed to sell alcohol to a minor. But four Perris businesses sold hooch to an underage customer as part of an undercover sting by law enforcement.
State and county law officials used a juvenile decoy Friday to target sales of alcohol to minors in the Perris area, according to a sheriff's corporal.
The decoy clearly posed as an adult younger than 21, according to sheriff's Cpl. Geoff Green.
Even though they cannot legally buy alcohol, persons under age 21 have a higher rate of drunk driving fatalities than the general adult population, Green said in a statement explaining Friday's sting operation.
