Smile! You're On Carona Camera!

SANTA ANA (AP) ― Orange County's acting sheriff says federal prosecutors are looking into hidden cameras found this week in the office of his predecessor, who faces federal corruption charges.

Acting Sheriff Jack Anderson said in a statement Friday that the matter had been turned over to the U.S. Attorney's Office, which is working in conjunction with the FBI.

He declined further comment.

U.S. Attorney spokesman Thom Mrozek also declined to comment.

Former Orange County Sheriff Michael Carona goes to trial in August on federal corruption charges.

The Orange County Register reported the cameras' discovery Thursday.
