A jury of 11 men and one woman has been seated for the corruption trial of former Orange County Sheriff Michael Carona.
Opening statements in the trial begin Wednesday.
Earlier, Carona's attorney's filed a motion asking a judge to dismiss federal public corruption charges against him because of "outrageous government conduct."
The papers, filed in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, said that prosecutors misled the grand jury that indicted Carona by presenting potentially false or partial testimony.
Carona's defense team also filed papers last Wednesday requesting to move the trial.
Defense has requested that a hearing be held Nov. 4 on the dismissal motion.
Carona was indicted late last year on felony charges of conspiracy, mail fraud and witness tampering. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
