The deadly Metrolink train crash Friday will likely put a crimp in the city's blood supply, according to officials.
UCLA Blood and Platelet Center will be open Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. to accept blood donations.
Healthy donors of all blood types are needed to donate blood, says the Center.
Appointments can be made by calling (310) 794-7217.
Roxanne Yamaguchi Moster, director of UCLA Health Sciences Media
Relations, says large accidents like the one in Chatsworth lessen the city's blood supply.
The center is customarily open the second Saturday of each month.
Additional staff will be provided if needed, Moster said.
