A driver rear-ended a northbound Metro bus on La Brea Avenue four times, as a result of a medical issue, authorities said.
The first collision occurred about 5:30 p.m. at Pico Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, according to a sergeant at the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.
"A guy driving a Chevy Avalanche rear ended the bus at Pico and La Brea," said the sergeant.
"The vehicle proceeded up to San Vicente, where it happened again. It happened again at Edgewood. The last time was at 8th and La Brea," she said.
"There were four incidents," she said. The driver got out of the bus at one point to see what was going on, and then proceeded along until the final crash.
The final time, the Chevy driver rear-ended the bus again, but a sport utility vehicle became involved in the last collision, and flipped over. No one was hurt, the sergeant said.
"Apparently it was a medical issue," she said.
