A man involved in a traffic crash that injured a 40-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl on a Mead Valley road allegedly took another motorist's vehicle and drove off, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash between a white truck and a silver vehicle was reported at Oakwood and Haines streets at 4:40 p.m., according to the CHP.
The suspect in the truck allegedly stole a white 1994 minivan that was not involved in the collision and left the scene, CHP officials said.
The woman and girl in the other car had to be freed from the wreckage. They were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries, Riverside County fire spokesman Patrick Chandler said.
