Temps Cool As Marine Fog Sets Over Westside
LOS ANGELES
A Catalina eddy, an upper level low and an onshore breeze are expected to keep much of the Westside fogged in today.
National Weather Service forecasters expect the marine layer to thicken to about 1,500 feet by this morning. And while the valleys should see sunshine by midmorning, the coast is likely to stay socked in -- except for some spotty, partial clearing in the afternoon.
Beach highs will top out mostly in the upper 60s, thanks to the fog and low cloud cover, but inland and valley areas should see near-normal highs in the 80s and 90s, according to the NWS.
Along the Orange County beaches, a southerly swell is expected to produce some waves up to about 7 feet today, increasing to about 9 feet tomorrow. Accordingly, the NWS issued a high surf advisory that will remain in effect through early Tuesday.
