Man Robbed In Sherman Oaks Motel Room

SHERMAN OAKS Police Wednesday were searching for two men who broke into a Sherman Oaks motel and robbed a man of his guitar and some cash, authorities said.

The robbery at 777 Motor Inn, 4781 Sepulveda Boulevard, took place around 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sgt. Zultan Mako of the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys Station.

The two bandits approached the man in the motel's parking lot and one of them flashed a small badge, attempting "to give the victim an impression that they had some authority," Mako said, adding that the two did not wear uniforms and were unarmed.

The robbers made him take them to his motel room, Mako said. Once inside, the two "threatened the victim, and made him lay down on the bed while they ransacked the place," he said.

The victim was not hurt.

A description of the bandits was not immediately released.
