Charred Remains Found In Car Near Baker

Vehicle Registered To Indianapolis Man Missing Since July 8

BAKER, Calif. (AP) ― San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies say human remains found in a charred 2005 Toyota Camry parked in a remote area near Baker may be those of a missing Indianapolis man.

Authorities say the vehicle was registered to 40-year-old Brian Adams, a computer engineer from Indianapolis. Investigators are seeking information about why Adams came to California. Adams' relatives last spoke with him on June 21 and reported him missing on July 8, according to authorities.

The remains were inside the car, which was found Sunday afternoon about 60 miles southwest of Barstow.

Authorities plan to do DNA tests to confirm the victim's identity.
