Officials: Dead Body Not In Car At Time Of Ticket

PICO RIVERA Authorities say a car ticketed hours before a dead man was found inside was probably empty when the citation was issued.

The car was parked at Rooks and Peck roads in the Pico Rivera area at about 8 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff's Lt. Maria Gutierrez said. It was not immediately clear how the man died.

Homicide detectives said the car was ticketed at 11:09 a.m. Tuesday.

"There is no evidence at this time that the citation was issued while the deceased man was inside the vehicle," according to a statement from the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

The man's identity has not yet been released and an autopsy was planned for Wednesday.
