LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― After the blazing fires that destoryed 800 acres of Griffith Park, Los Angeles' biggest park, the Los Angeles Dodgers and owner Frank McCourt announced Friday that they will donate $100,000 to begin the rebuilding process of the park.

"As proud members of the Los Angeles community, we know how important Griffith Park is to area residents, the Los Angeles eco-system, the local economy, and civic pride," McCourt said.

"As a gathering place for people from all walks of life, Griffith Park is part of the fabric of this community and from one civic asset to another, the Dodgers are proud to donate $100,000 as the first step toward restoring the park and all that it provides to the lives of Angelenos."
