Firefighters Wednesday put out a blaze that scorched roughly one-fourth of an acre of brush below the transition road from the Artesia 91 Freeway to the Long Beach 710 Freeway in Long Beach.
Drivers began calling the California Highway Patrol about the fire below the connector road from the westbound Artesia Freeway to the northbound Long Beach Freeway at 12:25 a.m., CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.
Long Beach firefighters responding to the fire knocked out the flames in roughly 15 minutes, a camera crew reported.
No immediate injuries were reported.
Freeway traffic was not affected by the blaze, Villalobos said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
