Two alleged gang members, both 16, were charged as adults Friday in the shooting death of honor student Melody Ross.
Tom Love Vinson, of Bellflower, and Daivion Davis, of Long Beach, were also charged with two counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting that killed Ross and wounded two men.
The 18- and 20-year-old men were shot about 10 p.m. Oct. 30 after the homecoming football game at Wilson High School, when two groups of gang members began fighting.
Vinson is accused of firing the shots.
The teens, who are being held on $3 million bail, are expected to be arraigned Friday in Long Beach Superior Court.
Ross was described by police as "an innocent bystander who was not involved" in the fight.
Police said neither of the suspects attended either Wilson or Long Beach Poly high schools, which played in the football game that night.
Ross was a junior at Wilson, where she was on the track team and enrolled in advanced placement classes, according to Long Beach Unified School District officials.
