Navigating To And From The Lakers Parade

 We Want Your Parade Photos, Video!

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― We will be live streaming the Lakers Victory Parade on CBS 2.com and KCAL 9.com from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday...but if you positively, absolutely, must be there live and in person to experience the thrill ...

You will want to know how to get around, what streets are closed, good vantage points (we swear, kcal9.com is a great idea!), bus routes, train schedules and how to get up close and personal with Kobe Bryant!

OK, with the Kobe Bryant thing...we can't help. Sorry. BUT, here is your guide to getting around and the latest info on transportation.


Public Transportation:
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says bus service will
be "impacted" on lines that run along or cross Figueroa Street, Flower Street or Grand between Olympic and Martin Luther King Boulevards.

Delays can be expected on Metro bus lines 28, 30, 31, 35, 37, 38, 40, 42, 55, 70, 71, 76, 78, 79, 81, 102, 200, 204, 335, 355, 378, 439, 442, 444, 445, 446, 447, 450x, 460, 484, 485, 550, 714, 728, 730, 740, 754 and 770.

Additional train service will be offered on the following rail lines:

  • Metro Blue Line: Additional train service will run every six minutes between Willow Station and Seventh Street/Metro Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Metro Red/Purple Lines: All trains will run with six-car trains throughout the midday period. The trains normally have four cars. Two additional trains will be available as needed.
  • Metro Gold Line: Two additional trains will be available as needed.
  • Metro Green Line: Two additional trains will be available as needed.

Parade Route:
The parade starts at The Staples Center and wends down to the Coliseum via Figueroa.

Watching The Parade On TV:

Both KCAL 9 (your Lakers station) and sister station CBS 2 will have extensive coverage of the parade and the Coliseum celebration.

KCAL 9 will have a special editon LTV from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Both KCAL 9 and CBS 2 will go live at 11 a.m. with live coverage from the parade and Coliseum celebration.
