Man Killed After Car Smashes Into Tree
LAKE FOREST, Calif.
A man was killed Wednesday after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree in Lake Forest, authorities said.
The man was driving west on Lake Forest Drive at about 2:30 p.m. when he veered into eastbound lanes, back into westbound lanes and then hit a tree, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Hal Brotheim said. The car was totaled and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car hit the tree at a high rate of speed, but its not known whether the accident was caused by speed, he said.
