Laguna Hills Woman Dies In River-Rafting Accident

A 73-year-old Laguna Hills woman was killed and her husband was critically injured while river rafting in Alaska.

A 73-year-old California woman is dead and her husband is critically injured in a rafting accident in Girdwood.
Alaska State Troopers say Ronnie Zoffer of Laguna Hills, Calif., died of her injuries in the accident Wednesday in Glacier Creek. Her husband, identified as 75-year-old Charles Zoffer, was flown to Providence Alaska Medical Center.
The couple was among four people on the raft down turbulent river rapids when the accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m.
Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says Daniel Paz, of Anchorage,
and Lance Terry, of Girdwood, were not hurt.
